Qualicum School District is
centrally situated on eastern Vancouver Island
and serves a student population of over 5,000
students.
There are eight elementary schools (Grades
K-5), three middle schools (Grades 6-8), two
secondary schools (Grades 9-12) an alternate
school, and a program to support home-learning
families called the Collaborative Education
Alternative Program (CEAP.)
The district has many programs available that
provide choice and alternatives to respond
to the diversity of student needs.

responsibility of the home, school, and community.

every student will prepare for lifelong learning
and living in a diverse society."
The Parksville-Qualicum
area is diverse in both its people and its
environment. The economy is based upon small
business and the tourist and resource industries.
Rich farmland, forest, beaches, and mountains
are all within easy reach. The area offers
many outdoor pursuits such as fishing, golfing,
boating, gardening and hiking.
There is an active and vibrant local arts
community craftspeople and fine artists,
writer and groups, and musicians--whose talents
are showcased in local galleries, theatres
and performance venues. The community is a
mix of generations, with a large retirement
population as well as new families drawn to
the area by affordable real estate, mild climate,
community amenities and a relaxed pace of
life.
